Calm before the storm

Hey all! I don't have too much time to post cuz im about to go meet cousin Marc at an izakaya (apparently...the equivalent of 80 cent beers!!!!). But just in case anyone saw reports on Japan's weather..im totally fine!

Yesterday was a big earthquake but i didnt feel it because i was in a tall, busy building (explanation later...lets just say i ate a TON of gyoza).

Tomorrow there is going to be a typhoon! My first typhoon ever! Im scared and excited. But no worries....i'll be totally safe (I'm lookin at you, Mom)

Jyaa ne (see ya)

ps: today...i tricked an old lady into thinking I was Japanese by helping her find potatoes using only Japanese. HUZZAH!

  1. Thanks for the status report on the earthquake. Admittedly I would have been in blissful ignorance if not for your uncle. But now a typhoon? Hopefully the weather will be calm by the 21st. Looking forward to seeing the sights of Tokyo with you. . .hopefully more on the itinerary than all your fave Izakayas.

  3. Uhh, yeah. My idiot dad told your mom that there was a 7.1 earthquake IN Tokyo. It's not like Al Gore hadn't invented the internet so he could verify these things before causing anxiety and panic.
Japan, excellent at drinking AND fireworks! Two staples of a good life. Love, Luke.
